Wow, I grew up on this album! My father had a small, but choice, record collection and "Time Out" was in it.
It was only much later (like 8 years ago) that I realized just how ingrained this Brubeck album is in my brain, after all those repeated listenings.
Brubeck's easy-yet-complex melodies, Desmond's delicate tenor, Morello's melodic drumwork, Wright's grounded bass, and all those crazy melodies, meters and syncopation - they are stamped into my psyche, as easy to recall as my first phone number.
I'm glad it's one of your favorites too!
