Thanks for mentioning and bringing attention to the Milo Foundation; am so thankful for organizations like this which are dedicated to helping animals.
I can't believe neighbours would complain about an animal sanctuary.

That's so sad... I'm sorry to hear about the closing of that location. You're right though. At least the program is still going on strong.

My mom found and raised over 200 cats before she was 30, and I've also tried to help her rescue as many animals as possible over the years. We firmly support programs like this, so it's wonderful hearing about organizations that I didn't previously know. Thanks for posting this, Mena.

a worthy cause for sure.. animals can't help thmselves unlike us humans.

No matter where they end up, they've fostered goodwill in a lot of people about animals. For whatever reason tonight my wife decided to feed our cat (who we got at the SPCA on Potrero now many years ago) some silly snookums snacks. In the middle of Little Miss Sunshine, right at the part where they're escaping from the hospital with the grandfather in the trunk, she decided to heave it up. No worries. Happens now and then (e.g. long haired calico). But that little bit of sunshine made us laugh so hard, for all the wrong reasons, I was reminded how dear it is that we - wife, kid, cat, me - are a family.

Go out, whereever you may, and find some Milo somewhere. Support good people doing good work.
