What was your first concert?

Ah man... early-mid 90s Violent Femmes were a thing of beauty. I remember seeing them at the Electric Ballroom in Tempe, AZ around then. In the afternoon on the day of the show, some friends and I were hanging out outside a coffee shop, waiting for the day to pass by. We heard some buskers nearby playing some Johnny Cash and other old country tunes, but with every other song being a Violent Femmes song. Figuring there's no way it could be a coincidence, we investigated and sure enough, two of the three band members were standing on a street corner playing sings behind an open guitar case containing about six bucks in change. We asked them what the hell they were doing and they said they do this from time to time when they get bored, and almost nobody ever figures out that it's actually them.

I've seen the Violent Femmes a bunch of times in random venues. I've seen them in clubs, but I've also seen them at folk festivals. They always rock.

My big brothers took me to see CSN on the Pier in NYC -- great intro to going to a concert. I was about 12 and had a crush on one of my brother's friends - spent the entire concert staring at him...sigh

I'm pretty sure I was actually at that conference too. I know I went to a BDF featuring Frente and Violent Femmes. I think Boingo was there too.
